They put out a record this week (woo!) so there was promotional chatter pretty much across the board.
Ryan: Mentioned the record release party; played at Bonnaroo; wrote a country song with Jon (working title: "there ain't no backstage passes in heaven, there ain't no VIP's in hell"); got given a lot of scotch in place of a sandwich; was irritated by World Cup chatter; and closed with asking the Internet what there was to do in Chicago. Pictures: mostly Bonnaroo, and an airplane; Musical selections: Conflated Rob Zombie and the Zombies "Odyssey & Oracle" (that really would be seriously trippy), promoted The Like's record release party, and also reacted to his friends' joke about John Fogarty ("John Yogurty").
Jon: A picture heavy week, documenting both his laundry and their Bonnaroo adventures; also a science-y week, with mention of a Science Channel show. At the end he was his usual elliptical self.
Andy: Kicked off with a 90210 reference; commiserated with a friend about Jerry Maguire being a tearjerker; watched the Stanley cup; was excited about "Kaner", which could be a scientist, a rapper or a surfing comedian (!); and finally was bored at the airport due to a flight delay.
Nick: Musical selections: Odyssey & Oracle, The Zombies and the Easy Rider (soundtrack?) LP; encouraged Californians to vote no on Prop 16 (public utilities entering the retail power business; it was defeated); shared a link to the Winnebago Man trailer; saw a be-banjo'd Steve Martin (at Bonnaroo?); expressed his appreciation for fireflies; asked the internet if he should see Splice or Get Me To the Greek; and lost a frisbee to an SUV.
Spencer mentioned encountering Solo, a movie starring Mario Van Peebles, as late-night fare, but beyond that, radio silence continues. Also, okay, probably they didn't go to Hawaii. (The water in Shane's picture looked suspiciously deep blue, so I thought they might be further out to sea, but I guess not.)
Travie: Also released a record this week (woooo!), so a lot of promotional chatter. He also expressed a desire for a Pillow Pet; shared a bunch of pictures of: his goddaughter (?) and his cd; himself + friends, in once case in "Free Wheezy" shirts; and of Marc DeJesus getting his hair caught in a car door; quoted Shephard Fairey; thanked his friends for pulling him out of the "pain cave" and inspiring the record; and also shared links to some video clips. Finally, he is finishing up the "Forgetting Katy Perry" mixtape/record.
