notes on notes: winding to a close

And now all lists are up-to-date, and also closed. A year, give or take a few days/weeks, seemed like a natural stopping place for the project. I may or may not start lists for other people; I'm weighing the merits and contemplating possible subjects. But mostly I'm going to use my fannish time this summer to finish some &!(*!^&! fic.
Final commentary on the act of annotation: It's been a really, really interesting year. Obviously I didn't expect Panic to split as dramatically as they did (or at all!) when I started the project, and doing the annotations has definitely sharply illustrated for me the ways in which their interests both diverge and converge. Also, they all retain distinct voices and personalities, even limited to 140 characters at a time. On a related note, I am somewhat relieved to not have to devote any more brain-power to processing Andy Soukal's tweets, as he tends to do Twitter-memes which get on my nerves.
On the other hand, I'm excited to see what else I might learn from Nick Murray, music-wise, as his taste is decidedly more expansive than anyone elses, with the possible exception of Travie. I actually gave serious thought, at one point, to making play-lists of their song lists, but then I took one look at the mountain of Beatles on Jon's list and just, no. I can't. That is way too much.
Keeping up with Travie, even while he was having some Drama as well, was actually remarkably soothing. Of course that may also have been because Travie and I are closer in age, and I get a lot more of his references at first glance. And I continue to enjoy his tendency to share pictures of his dog and whatever street art he might come across.

Date: 2010-05-27 02:28 am (UTC)I am kind of thinking I'll miss doing the snarky commentary, though having that with no list to back it up doesn't seem right, somehow.
