Possibly because of Twitter being a disaster, and possibly as penance for last week's shenanigans, Ryan was remarkably quiet this week, surfacing only to tell us about a DJ gig, share a picture of himself holding what appears to be a gun-shaped bottle of tequila, and move "All Day & All of The Night" (Kinks) onto the list of songs he's mentioned more than twice. I put down Hijos de Villa tequila for the bottle, but I'm not 100& sure that's right. As it happens there are a lot of gun-shaped bottles of liquor out there (for example: hXXp://www.boxvox.net/2009/06/gunshaped-bottles.html). There's one on the BoxVox site called Fun Caliber that looks more like the item he's actually holding, but it seems to only be available as an antique on Ebay. The Hijos de Villa seems to be a lot easier to get a hold of, so I went with that one, though given our Mr. Ross's penchant for vintage, it may very well be the Fun Caliber.
Meanwhile, the Panic!/FOB/Blink tour got underway in earnest, and Brendon seems to be having a good time playing shows and also playing mini-golf on their day off. He did also reference comedian Ron White and shared a YouTube video of something called "Extras" featuring Ben Stiller and Ricky Gervais at their cringe-inducing best.
Spencer is also having a good time on tour, and is sharing his happiness one Twitpic at a time. ♥, Spencer. No new songs in this installment, and only one movie (Happy Gilmore), but I did update his Visual Art section to include Michael Michael Motorcycle, the artist behind his Twitter icon and, apparently, their new stage backdrop. (Thank you for that tip, Miss Anonymouse!) The double Michael is key, as singular Michael Motorcycle specializes in feng shui for hair. (I'm totally serious, people. He will read your personality by the way your hair grows!)
Back in Chicago, Jon played some frisbee golf, went fishing, and hung out with Eric and Than from Black Gold who were in town for Lollapalooza. He tweeted some random phrases which I have, for now, filed as his own lyrics, and one phrase ("weird ass fear") that might, possibly, be a Some Kind of Monster reference. It's a bit of a stretch, but Ryan did once mention in an interview that that documentary was one they watched all the time on the bus, so it's possible. (A transcript of the movie was, interestingly, the first thing that came up in a Google search. If he is referencing SKOM, he's quoting James Hetfield.) Finally, this week was not only bizarrely Beatles-free, but music-free as well.
