He's changed his Twitter background - for the first time since TYV broke up - from a picture of him performing with TYV to a picture of the Lovers of Valdaro, aka the hugging skeletons.

(He's also started following, among other entities, the Forever Alone twitter.)

Also notable from today is #ryanrosscathat which was where - prodded by one of Ryan's friends - the Internets gleefully 'shooped pictures of cats onto Ryan's head in order to try and persuade him to adopt a cat that has apparently already adopted him. So if you are wondering why your Tumblr dash is full of pictures of Ryan Ross with feline chapeaus, that is why.

What do you think about the More Amor song? Do you think the line I miss your bones / Now I'm a ghost is something Ryan would write?

Mmm. Hmm. Good question. I liked the More Amor song as a song, but I felt like it was very much them, and their sound, if perhaps a little bit more mature than they have been in the past.

I haven't listened to the earlier MA stuff for a while, but I can tell you I wasn't sitting here like WHAT TOM OAKES WHAT HAPPENED??

As for I miss your bones / Now I'm a ghost I think that I would not be surprised if Ryan wrote it, or shaped it. It's not so far off from "I missed your skin / while you were east" or really any part of Northern Downpour. But I would not automatically make that assumption.

Though on the other hand, I did wonder about the lyrics about being tangled up in rope and Ryan looking to buy rope on Amazon earlier this summer. That was where I thought Ryan?? Is that you??
